Tough Beast
By River Rat | on Monday, September 14, 2020
Have owned this truck since 2002, when it had 68,000 miles. I've hauled 1,000+ lbs. on many occasions and it never flinched. Much heavier and better built than any of today's trucks. It gets 15 mpg whether uphill/downhill, with/against the wind and regardless of load weight. One of these days I'll have to part with it, but until then I'll continue to enjoy this workhorse and the many compliments received along the way.… - 5.0

The best truck I'll ever drive
By Connor EÂ |Â on Wednesday, January 13, 2021
I learned to drive stick in my Cheyenne before I could ride a bike. Although very basic, it makes for a perfect work and farm truck. Ours has a low revving V8 with a manual transmission with 2WD, 4WD Low, and 4WD High with wishbones in the front and leaf springs in the back. The 4 speed transmission will very rarely get the truck over 75 as long as you can turn up the radio louder than the engine. To be fair, any OBS Chevy doesn't go very fast. The only problems I have are with the seat being somewhat uncomfortable when I wear shorts, having a 30 gallon gas tank that only gets me 350 miles, and the emotional attachment I have with it. If you're ever lucky enough to sit on that bench seat and hear it roar to life, you've had a 1 in a million experience. I wish more people would speak up about their Cheyenne. It's like the little .22 you had growing up in that it's fun, memorable, well built, looks beautiful, and you hope to pass it on someday. If I ever crashed it, I couldn't forgive myself. Buy an old truck and take care of it, if you buy something good and keep it in running condition it'll never fail you.…
